So many properties of sound and acoustic theory are relevant to the very nature of physics and “reality”. Yeah, a lot of that has been co-opted by certain modern flavors of mysticism - and that’s fine, generally speaking - but for everything from fluid dynamics to the Slinky, there are components that may also apply to synthesis and sound design.
This piece from Wired does a great job of connecting some dots in this area. It’s mathy, but stay with it, as it’s definitely something to ponder.
